Cottages Launceston and area

Launceston is known as the gateway to Cornwall and is perched at the top of a steep hill. It was once the leading town of Cornwall and has a Norman castle (although mostly in ruins its worth visiting-views as far as Bodmin Moor from the keep-wall). A market town with lots of shops etc. Some of the old town walls still exist, in particular note the old gateway in the centre of the town. There is a tiny local history museum. A medieval fottbridge spans the river Kensey at the bottom of the town.
