CRACKINGTON-HAVEN VILLAGE

The village of Crackington-Haven is approximately 7 miles from  the town of Bude and is in North Cornwall.
In  Victorian times Crackington-Haven was a port which handled exports and imports. The railway came nearby in 1893 which resulted of course in it becoming a more popular tourist attraction. It is hard to imagine how isolated some Cornish  villages were in Victorian times before the railways came.
The Cornish name for the village is Porthkrag.  Middle Crackington and  Higher Crackington are nearby.
