Mawgan Porth is only a tiny hamlet. It is
approximately 6 miles from
the well known tourist destination of the town of Newquay.
There used to be a Saxon settlement at Mawgan Porth years ago. and a
burial ground was discovered dating to about 900 AD so it has a bit of
history. There is not much extra to say about Mawgan Porth
except it is in North Cornwall. Many people prefer
smaller places occasionally as a contrast to the bigger tourist spots.
Many people do not know what is meant by the term Hamlet but
this term is often used in Cornwall. There are some shops and
an Inn in the hamlet .
